New Reference Sites in Iran

PTW is pleased to welcome Nemazee Teaching Hospital, Shiraz and Reza Radiotherapy Oncology Center (RROC), Mashhad, as official PTW reference sites in Iran

Nemazee Teaching Hospital, Shiraz, Iran
Nemazee (Namazi), as a general, specialist and subspecialist teaching hospital, is an educational therapeutic center of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, in Shiraz, south of Iran.
In collaboration with Dr. Mosleh-Shirazi, Nemazee Hospital, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (Shiraz) and his colleagues and students, we are currently having a closer look at quantum noise in linac relative dosimetry. Quantum noise is usually the strongest noise component of the relative signal noise when recording profiles and PDDs. The project aims at increasing the quantum noise measurement data base and on classifying detectors according to quantum noise.

Reza Radiotherapy Oncology Center (RROC), Mashhad, Iran
Reza Radiotherapy Oncology Center (RROC) was established by Mashhad Cancer Charity (MCC) on 2006 at Mashhad, the second largest city in Iran. As one of the best-equipped and most advanced centers for cancer detection and treatment in the country, RROC is treating about 2000 cancer patients in a year.
