PTW MEPHYSTO mc²
The Medical Physics Control Center provides modules for all dosimetry tasks in radiotherapy on one interface.
MEPHYSTO software for controlling automatic water phantoms, for data acquisition of dose distribution of radiotherapy institutions and for analysis of radiation fields has already existed for many years and is used in numbers of several hunger successfully worldwide. PTW-Freiburg has made great efforts to adapt the tried-and-tested software to modern requirements and provide those practicing medical physics with a central tool for handling all tasks in therapeutic dosimetry. The new MEPHYSTO mc² software was presented at ICMP 2005 in Nuremberg, and it has already been used successfully in Germany and other countries.
MEPHYSTO mc² with its Medical Physics Control Center provides medical physics experts with a uniform interface to handle all tasks dealing with dosimetry quickly and easily. In the further development of MEPHYSTO software, special attention was paid to easy operation and support from graphics. Users can configure the Control Center. The integrated modules are optimized for the special tasks of radiation data recording and analysis with simple workflows and divided clearly into function groups. Clear and simple structures within modules make it possible to become familiar with their use quickly. The modular concept reduces the parameter entries of users. Measurements of complex tasks such as base data recording for therapy planning systems can be combined and worked through simply using an integrated TaskList. Modern programming technologies such as 'drag & drop' technique ensure great ease of use.
MEPHYSTO mc² contains all essential modules for relative dosimetry in the basic version. In addition, software options are available for other dosimetric tasks:
- Film dosimetry incl. controlling a digital film scanner
- Measurements with a linear array LA48 in dynamic and static fields
- Checking MLC positions (MLCSoft)
- TPR measurements
- Absolute dosimetry with calibrated ionization chambers
- Basic data transmission with help of conversion modules for all customary planning systems
In addition to the available options, any software applications can be integrated into the Control Center. Reference measurements for quality assurance can be filed in Favorites. As a result, your own macros or functions (e.g., 2D ARRAY) can be integrated.
Handling measurements is also simplified thanks to an expanded ASCII file format. The files contain both the definition of the measurement tasks and the scan data and can be measured again simply by loading them into the measurement module. A editor for the measurement data and analysis logs as well as ?copy & paste? functions are integrated into the corresponding modules. An html file is created with the measurement results automatically at each print preview. This makes all options for customized printouts possible.
